KZ Noir is a Rwandan subsidiary of Kaizen Venture Partners, in 2011; KZ Noir acquired 3 coffee processing companies: Socor, Caferwa and Karengera Coffee, together operating 8 washing stations in the Western Province. KZ Noir exports fully- and semi-washed green coffee and has two roasted brands. The Company employ over 1,200 seasonal staff, over 800 of which are women, Support over 10,000 Rwandan farmers, increased payments to farmers over 400% from 2010 to 2012.
KZ Noir purchases raw cherries & semiprocessed parchment from smallholder coffee farmers and cooperatives for processing. Processed coffee is then exported to international buyers. The company buys through its three subsidiaries; Socor, Caferwa and Karengera. This increases the probability of business success for washing stations that would otherwise have no access to such value-add expertise. The Company is the Leading Exporter of Rwandan Specialty Coffee.
